Collection: #6

When adidas and Jeremy Scott first teamed up in 2003, they created a quirky, ultra-limited sneaker, with just 100 pairs made. In the years that followed, the three-stripes brand became a regular feature in Jeremy’s runway shows, though those early designs stayed exclusive and out of public reach.

The partnership officially launched in 2009 with a Spring/Summer collection that included both footwear and apparel. It brought a fresh twist to adidas, blending its sportswear roots with Scott’s eccentric, playful vision — think cartoons, consumer culture, and a touch of kitsch. By then, Scott was already a standout in the fashion world, known for his provocative visual language, and would soon become creative director at Moschino.

The collaboration quickly gained momentum, securing a lasting place in adidas’ history and deepening its ties to hip-hop culture. You couldn’t miss adidas x Jeremy Scott — it was everywhere, especially on artists like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and a young A$AP Rocky, who even co-created a capsule with Scott in 2013. K-pop group 2NE1 and other global icons also helped expand its reach worldwide.

The pieces became instant status symbols. Most were crafted with premium materials — often featuring real leather linings and high-end construction — and came with price tags to match. Standout sneaker designs like the Wings 1.0 and Teddy Bears were reimagined from the Metro Attitude, a classic adidas basketball silhouette from the '80s, updated in the 2000s with a modern feel.

The first — and most iconic — phase of the collaboration ran until 2015. In 2021, adidas revived it by reintroducing the Forum Money, the original 2003 model, now updated with Scott’s signature wings. More recently, the brand has hinted at a wider revival of one of its most celebrated creative partnerships. At the same time, it has surged in popularity on TikTok, thanks to a wave of nostalgia for the “swag era” aesthetic that peaked around 2013 — a look Jeremy Scott helped define.

Today, Jeremy Scott x adidas remains a cult classic: wearable pop art that still resonates with a new generation while tapping into the memories of those who lived it the first time around.
