Jeremy Scott is widely credited as the inventor of the wedge sneaker. His first collaboration with adidas dates back to the Fall/Winter 2003 collection, where the initial design was conceived as a luxury reinterpretation of the adidas Metro Attitude. Presented in gold, silver and pearlescent colorways, the sneaker featured a hidden internal wedge. The result was an unconventional silhouette, meant to be worn with the heel left exposed. Like many adidas sneakers that consistently appeared on his runways throughout the 2000s, before the official launch of Originals by Originals, this design was never released to the public.
These sneaker boots from the Fall/Winter 2013 collection are without doubt among the most iconic pieces of the collaboration. Fully wrapped in white leather, they feature the cartoonish wings on the back, Jeremy Scott’s unmistakable signature.
